Welcome to the 4th Spring Festival Silicon Valley (SFSV) on February 4, 2012 at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. 2012 marks CPAA's 20th Anniversary as well as the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese calendar. This is a very rare triple-celebration in the 21st Century. To celebrate this special occasion, CPAA together with 200 artists will present a sensational East-meets-West extravaganza featuring the spectacular The Legend of the Dragon King and New Year Celebration. We thank Honorable Assemblymember Paul Fong and TV anchorwoman Diana Ding to host this performance. We hope the Dragon King will bring you all the luck and prosperity to your business.

Starting from Chinese New Year's Eve, spring festivities such as parades, parties, and visiting friends last for several weeks. The tradition can be traced back 8,000 years, to when the Chinese tribesmen settled down to grow crops. Spring was determined as the right season to plan for a bumper harvest. This tradition was later introduced to other Asians like Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese, many centuries ago. Now in the 21st Century, one-quarter of humanity is celebrating the spring to hope for a better future. As one of the most ancient legacy in human history, the Spring Festival has indeed a universal and timeless value.

CPAA, known for its creativity in the production of high artistic spectacles, presents the 4th SFSV, a variety show of dance, music, kung fu, magic, acrobatics, and the spectacular fluorescent 60' Dragon to entertain audiences of all ages and different cultural backgrounds. Our goal is to establish the Asian Spring Festival similar to Christmas, joy to the world. We are grateful to many sponsors including City of San Jose, Marchese Family Foundation, San Jose Mercury News, World Channel, DingDing TV, 99People, private corporations, individuals, and over 20 community organizations to build this cultural high point in the Bay Area. Through artistic expression, the Spring Festival Silicon Valley truly celebrates the Asian New Year as well as America's diversity and inclusiveness that make America great and strong.
